Nadine Kessler was trained as a typographer and graphic designer in Basel, Switzerland and RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), USA. She has worked over fifteen years in the design industry, mainly with clients in the cultural, social and educational sector, across Australia, Germany and Switzerland. With an expertise in typography (school of Wolfgang Weingart) Nadine works together with the client; her strength is thinking outside the box and developing new ideas. Through her work with vitrashop (shop interior designs) she has a profound technical knowledge and understanding of materials. Her book designs have been awarded and praised world-wide. In teams together with exhibition designers, developers and UX designers, Nadine is known for pushing boundaries.
She taught Advanced Typography at the University of Tasmania and has given lectures as well as facilitated workshops Australia wide. Nadine's unique experience as resource developer with Aboriginal communities in the Central Australian desert continues to inform her work.
Nadine has an experimental arts practise which focuses on language and cultural identity. She was awarded the prestigious Arts Tasmania-Vitra Design Fellowship, which allowed her to undertake research in Boisbuchet, France as well as exhibit her work with the support of Goethe Institute Australia.
